Istanbul born, London based actor UMIT ERLIM has worked in film, theatre and television in Turkey and England. He started professional acting career with a popular TV series called PIS YEDILI, while he was studying acting in Kadir Has University Theatre Department between 2009-2013 in Istanbul.

Erlim has played a diverse array of roles that span from classical play-writers to devised works. He completed his MA in Performance Making degree at Goldsmiths, University of London with distinction. In 2014, he was invited 20th Sarajevo Film Festival’s Talents Programme and he was in their Promising Young Artists’. He also travelled to Sweden, Poland, Germany and France with an international street theatre company in his early 20’s.

He co-starred in Turkish director Cagan Irmak's feature film NADIDE HAYAT in 2015. His second feature film Mug Productions & Mantra Film co-production with the association of TRT Home Cinema; NOMAD (GOCEBE) was premiered in Istanbul Film Festival in April 2017. 

Erlim has a wide array of interests and talents, including that he studied physics engineering in Istanbul Technical University for 3 years, played basketball for 8 years; he is a one-star Scuba Diver, martial-arts practitioner, and currently developing his second feature film screenplay.
